Gaida Leif is an artist who creates pieces that celebrate the unique relationship between human and nature.
As an architect who researched materials, Gaida was captivated by the beauty and potential of wood. She believes that trees hold a special power that can help us reconnect with the natural world around us.
Gaida expresses her love for wood in a variety of ways. First and foremost, she hosts a podcast called "Wood You Listen," where she explores the many ways that wood has impacted humanity throughout history, including its ancient uses, practical and emotional associations, and spiritual connections.
In addition to her podcast, Gaida is also an artist who specializes in crafting wood. She enjoys using this medium to illustrate ancient stories and mythology, which she believes can help people reconnect with the stories and wisdom of the natural world.
Although her formal education is in architecture, Gaida's passion for working with wood has taken her in a different direction. She's proud to say that she's now a wood artist and writer. She's currently working on a children's book that tells the story of trees, which she's excited to share with the world soon.
